Description
The Spanish title—'The Hopeless Case'—belongs to the multilingual naming scheme of Dallas John's surrealist serigraph series of circa 1979–80, which cast trucks and other workaday machinery in enigmatic allegories. John (b. 1945), a former urban planner turned Denver printmaker, editioned these works as hand-pulled serigraphs, each built from hand-prepared color layers and signed and numbered in pencil.
