Description
Its German title—'The Wrath of God'—places this 1980 serigraph within Dallas John's surrealist series of the late 1970s and early 1980s, whose multilingual titles (Wasserbahn, Morada No Ceu, El Caso Sin Remedio) frame American highway imagery in ironic, portentous terms. John (b. 1945), a Denver artist and former urban planner, developed his serigraphic technique out of commercial silkscreen work, hand-pulling each numbered impression through successive color screens. RoGallery's biography notes the intricacy of color, texture, and perspective that defines these prints.
