Javier Iglesias
Spanish · b. 1977
Javier Iglesias, who works as Gnosick, was born in Madrid in 1977 and draws where sacred geometry meets psychonautics — intuition dictating each line, no sketching, a meditative practice one critic described as reaching for "serenity of soul and body." He founded Belio Magazine in 1999 and has exhibited since 1997; his Ataraxia Geométrica filled Madrid's Swinton Gallery in 2017 with geometric drawings made in that state of deliberate calm. The silver-ink Reveries in this collection carry the same language: circuit-like stellar maps on metallic blue paper. The Reveries have been a favorite on the wall since they arrived.
