Description
Déportés du Sillon (Étude) reflects Vera Molnár’s pioneering exploration of algorithmic drawing and geometric transformation through early computer-assisted processes. Created as a plotter drawing, the work uses repeated linear structures and systematic variation to evoke displacement, fragmentation, and movement within an ordered visual field. Molnár combines rigorous mathematical logic with subtle irregularities, allowing the image to oscillate between mechanical precision and emotional resonance. As in much of her work from the 1970s, the drawing investigates how minimal deviations within a programmed system can generate complexity, rhythm, and expressive tension.
