Vera Molnar’s 9 Carrés, Autrement (“9 Squares, Otherwise”) reimagines the strict geometry of a nine-square grid through subtle variation and controlled disruption. Rather than presenting perfect repetition, Molnar introduces shifts in position, spacing, or color relationships that gently unsettle the expected order. The work reflects her lifelong fascination with systems and “1% disorder” — the idea that small deviations within a structured framework can create movement, surprise, and visual vitality.
