Nick Hardeman

Nick Hardeman is a creative coder's creative coder: born and based in Miami, an MFA from Parsons' Design + Technology program, "Minister of Interactive Art" at the installation studio Design I/O, and a longtime openFrameworks contributor — if you've used its SVG loading, plotter output, or physics addons, you've run his code. On the side he feeds his own software to a 1983 HP7475 pen plotter. His Scarf Series turns a folded, patterned scarf into unique generative plots, and his squids — every one randomly generated, every one given a name — get hand-finished in watercolor after the plotter draws the lines. Ours is named Alfredo. I bought him a decade ago, and he has been bringing delight to me and our visitors ever since.
