Notes
An artist's book of Roman Verostko's whimsical pen drawings from the early 1970s -- made BEFORE he turned to algorithmic/plotter art -- with named creatures such as 'WOOZIWOOH'. Bound as a literal 'upsidedown book': readable from either end, each spread carrying its text right-side-up and inverted, so neither the artist nor the printer can tell which side is up. The drawings were first shown in Verostko's 'Imaging the Unseen' exhibition (Westlake Gallery, Minneapolis, 1972) and at Steve Joy's Trajectory Gallery (London, Ontario, 1973); in 2008 Verostko mounted a mural based on them at the Fred Rogers Center, St. Vincent College, Latrobe, PA. Published by Verostko's own imprint Jewelweed Impressions (2008, first edition) -- the 'Dedication edition for the Fred Rogers Center.' Slipcased. Owner's physical copy.
