The source documents come from the 端山文庫, the papers kept in Hayama's laboratory at Tohoku University of Art and Design, digitised by the project with the agreement of his family; his autograph scores were given to the University History Archives of the Tokyo University of the Arts in 2026. An autograph manuscript score for ten percussionists, written in pencil and ink on aged manuscript paper, titled in French in Hayama's own hand as ESSAi POUR 10 PRC. The archive holds it as number 62 of the manuscript scores and gives it no date. Two scanned sequences are kept, of twelve and thirteen pages. The pages are laid out in his characteristic graphic manner: ruled timelines rather than conventional bars, dynamics written as 4F sempre, and instrument groups bracketed down the left margin, with the players' batteries named in a mixture of Japanese, Italian and English, among them timpani, cowbells, maracas, marimba, triangle, bongo, glockenspiel, gran cassa, tom-tom, antique cymbal and wood block. Hayama's manuscript scores were donated by the archive project to the University History Archives of the Tokyo University of the Arts in 2026, where the originals are now permanently held.
