Lars Wander

Lars Wander is a gentle artist whose work is so lovely and delicate — a programmer and computer artist in New York City whose practice, in his words, "focuses on the intersection between computation and perception." He spent years as a Google engineer on cloud infrastructure and AI teams — he co-wrote O'Reilly's book on Spinnaker — before going full-time as an artist and making code his material: AxiDraw plotters wielding brushes loaded with Winsor & Newton watercolor, flow fields that wiggle because water does. He has visited the workshop for plotter parties, and he fits right in. His work has shown at Art Basel Miami, Paris Photo (Observation and Interaction, 2024), and Bright Moments Tokyo, with "while true" arriving as an Art Blocks curated release in December 2024.
