Isao Tomita

Japanese

Isao Tomita (1932–2016) was a Japanese composer and a pioneer of electronic music, best known for his lush Moog-synthesizer realizations of classical repertoire. His 1974 album Snowflakes Are Dancing, a set of Debussy pieces rebuilt on the Moog III, became an international hit and helped popularize the synthesizer as a serious orchestral instrument.
