Anna Ridler

Anna Ridler (b. 1985) is a London artist who treats machine learning as an artistic material and datasets as handmade things: her Myriad (Tulips) is ten thousand tulip photographs she took and hand-labelled herself, making visible the labour inside every training set, and Mosaic Virus grew GAN tulips whose stripes tracked the price of Bitcoin — tulip mania meeting crypto mania head-on. Oxford for English literature, the RCA for Information Experience Design; collected by the Whitney, the V&A, M+, ZKM, and the Centre Pompidou; represented by Nagel Draxler.
