Anders Hoff

Norwegian

Anders Hoff is a force of nature in generative art, twice over: once through the artworks and again through his writing about how they're made. A Norwegian programmer with an applied-mathematics degree from NTNU, he works under the name inconvergent (always lowercase), building custom programs that grow structures the way nature does — meshes that expand, lattices that thicken, lines that wander under simple rules until something complex appears. Many of the results become one-of-a-kind plotter drawings, each titled with the short git hash of the exact code version that drew it, marked with its date, and signed 1/1. His essays explaining his algorithms are some of the most generous writing in the field — he shows his work in both senses.
