Notes
The first book credited to a computer author — the RACTER program (William Chamberlain & Thomas Etter), originally Warner Books, 1984. The copy in the collection is the 2017 Bonner Kunstverein exhibition catalogue designed by Kellenberger–White (Bonn): a 140-page publication built around a full facsimile of the 1984 original, with 75 illustrations, installation views, a timeline, interviews and essays. Cover is hand-colored, screen-printed line drawings by Harold Cohen (from his children's coloring books); text set in OCR-B (readable by human and machine); spineless, lies flat like a stack of A4. Cross-links to the collection's Harold Cohen holdings. Year recorded as 1984 (the seminal work); physical object is the 2017 catalogue. Cover photograph: Kellenberger–White.
