Description
Signed and numbered silkscreen made for Surfaces: Aesthetics in Technology, Giorgini's 1975 exhibition at Purdue University. Giorgini computed his imagery with FIELDS, the FORTRAN program he developed with Dr. W. C. Chen, drew the color separations on a CalComp pen plotter on mylar, and hand-pulled the silkscreens in his home studio — engineer's tools turned to art, at the heart of this collection's plotter through-line. He said the work was motivated by natural forms and rejected randomness outright; "computer-aided art" was his own term for it.
