Yunmee Kyong
Korean
Yunmee Kyong is a Korean-born artist who studied in London and New York (MFA, School of Visual Arts) and now works from Peekskill, painting and printing a world her gallery once described as "neither real nor fictional… the ambiguous space between the every-day and the mystical" — humans, birds, and gods in acrylic, drawings, votives, and prints. She has shown from Seoul's Insa Art Center to the International Print Center New York and Philagrafika, held residencies at the Lower East Side Printshop, Vermont Studio Center, and Flux Factory, and illustrated children's books, including Rukhsana Khan's Silly Chicken (Viking, 2005).
