Ted Ollier
Ted Ollier is a Boston-area printmaker and conceptual artist — born in the Midwest, schooled in Texas (University of Texas, Texas State) and at MassArt, trained across intaglio, relief, silkscreen, and lithography — whose stated concern is "data and its interaction with the consensus reality." He works as Mindhue Studio from Medford, owns Reflex Letterpress in Charlestown's Stove Factory, and has taught letterpress since 2008, starting at Harvard's Bow & Arrow Press. The space prints in this collection are pure Ollier: mission data — crater fields, rover tracks, landing paths — set in ink like scripture, editions of forty in black on fluorescent white Lettra. I have a fondness for early Apollo-era spaceflight, and Ted Ollier's work is inspiring.
