Osamu Kitajima

Osamu Kitajima (b. 1949, Chigasaki) recorded psychedelic pop as "Justin Heathcliff" before Benzaiten fused koto, biwa, and Japanese folk instrumentation with synthesizer, rhythm machine, and electronic drums — with Haruomi Hosono, a year or two shy of founding Yellow Magic Orchestra, on bass. Originally an Island release (1974); ours is the US Antilles pressing.
