Nikolas Diamant

American

Nikolas "Nick" Diamant has been animating since he was eleven — one animation a week from ages eleven to eighteen, all still up on his Nickimation channel — and the habit compounded: a BCSA degree from Carnegie Mellon (computer science and arts, drama concentration, 2022), real-time Kinect puppetry with Limbo at the Frank-Ratchye STUDIO for Creative Inquiry, and now a Brooklyn practice that runs from animatronics to plotter drawings. In 2025 he set himself a monthly live performance and a monthly animation, because weekly at eleven apparently wasn't enough. He was a student in Golan Levin's Drawing with Machines class at CMU — that's where the piece I own came from. I saw it on Instagram, reached out, and I love it: these faces have so much character.
