MMachine

MMACHINE is the Berlin-based duo of Martin Bauer and Maj Mlakar — now exhibiting as Bauer/Mlakar — who paint abstractions with a custom-built 2 × 6 meter plotter that translates digital commands into precise brushstrokes of oil and acrylic. The machine is the brush; the vocabulary is concrete art's, run at industrial scale. Martin is an old friend (his solo page has that story), and the duo's work straddles chaos and design.
