Laurie Spiegel
Laurie Spiegel (b. 1945) composed The Expanding Universe on GROOVE, Max Mathews' hybrid computer system at Bell Labs, between 1973 and 1978 — music years ahead of its 1980 release, reissued expanded in 2012. Her realization of Kepler's Harmonices Mundi opens the sounds sequence of the Voyager Golden Record, now beyond the solar system; her Music Mouse (1986) made the computer itself an "intelligent instrument."
