Karl Duschek

Karl Duschek (1947–2011) was one half of Stankowski + Duschek, the Stuttgart studio whose systematic graphic identities — Deutsche Börse among them — ran on the same rule-based geometry as his art. Born in Braunschweig, he joined Anton Stankowski's studio in 1972 and became partner; as a concrete artist he built series from systems, "purest constructivism" in his estate's words, working a stated palette of yellow, blue, green, and red. The Kunstmuseum Stuttgart holds the largest collection of his work, with more at Museum Ritter and the Museum für Konkrete Kunst in Ingolstadt; his periodical eins und… is reported in the collections of MoMA and the Centre Pompidou. He also ran his own imprint, Verlag Karl Duschek — a systematist finishes the job.
