Jussi Jokinen made his first digital pixel drawings as a kid in the 1980s, on a Commodore Amiga in a countryside home in Finland, and never really stopped. Two decades a professional visual designer, he now sends algorithms and hand-crafted design tools to drawing machines — "machine becomes a superior paintbrush," as he puts it — and works where "imperfections of the real world blend with clean digital forms." He shows mainly around Tampere and Nokia; in early 2026, Galleria Tilitoimisto in Tampere mounted Convergent Lines, his two-person exhibition with the New York artist Eric Hagan. I hope to meet him someday — his commitment to detail, and the gold in the two Nousu works here, push the plots into something that feels both chaotic and luxurious.
