Jonathan Wendt

American

Jonathan Wendt is a gentle soul, and that depth comes through in the work. A generative artist in Ridgewood, Queens, he codes art for his robot to make — some of it through DrawingBotV3, some from his own programs with wild generative textures — and he's not afraid to add splatters for emotional texture. rOtring Isograph technical pens and fountain-pen inks (Noodler's, Colorverse) on white bristol, down to portrait commissions of people and pets chosen by seed number. In January 2025 he spent a residency on a prototype Bantam Tools ArtFrame, closing with a show of twenty-five plots at the Machine Arts Gallery in Peekskill.
