John Keating

Johnny Keating (1927–2015) was an Edinburgh-born trombonist and arranger — a Ted Heath band alumnus who hit UK #8 in 1962 with the Z-Cars TV theme (his arrangement of the traditional "Johnny Todd") — and later a conductor of synthesizer-heavy orchestral pop. Space Experience (1972) billed the EMS Synthi VCS3 right on the sleeve, space-age strings behind it.
