John Cohen

John Cohen (born Tredegar, Monmouthshire, 1911) was Professor of Psychology at the University of Manchester. He studied under Sir Cyril Burt at University College London, held posts at Leeds and London, and advised UNESCO. His books include Human Nature, War and Society; Chance, Skill and Luck; and Behaviour in Uncertainty. His research centred on 'higher mental processes' and the psychology of risk, choice, information and subjective time. A contributor to Jasia Reichardt's Cybernetics, Art and Ideas (1971).
