Eugen Roth

German artist, born 1925 in Ludwigshafen. Son of an electrical engineer, he learned modelling in a sculptor's studio and worked freelance from 1948, developing a painting technique using indanthrene dyes. From 1956 he made architectural reliefs and sculpture on commission, including special-steel wall pieces, and was a founding member of the Gruppe Parallel in 1960. He began exploring computer-made work in 1990 and colour digital images in 1999, exhibiting regularly from 2003.
