Edgard Varèse

Edgard Varèse (1883–1965), the "Father of Electronic Music," left barely three hours of surviving music and changed everything with it. Poème électronique (1957–58), commissioned for the Philips Pavilion at the 1958 Brussels World's Fair — Le Corbusier's commission, the building designed by Iannis Xenakis — played through some 400 loudspeakers to an estimated two million visitors. The Czech Supraphon LP here ("Průkopník a prorok" — Pioneer and Prophet) is the Eastern Bloc's tribute pressing.
