Donald Erb

Donald Erb (1927–2008) was an American composer and longtime Distinguished Professor of Composition at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Reconnaissance (1967) and In No Strange Land (1968), the works on the 1969 Nonesuch LP, put live instruments in conversation with electronic sounds — Reconnaissance is often cited among the earliest concert works with live synthesizer.
