Brian Eno

Brian Eno (b. 1948) left Roxy Music's synthesizer chair to become ambient music's namer and formalizer — Ambient 1: Music for Airports (1978) coined the term. Ambient 4: On Land (1982) closed the series: landscape as music, with Miles Davis's "He Loved Him Madly" and Fellini's Amarcord cited in Eno's own liner notes as touchstones.
