Aren Davey

Aren Davey, who codes as aahdee, is a Pittsburgh creative technologist with a CMU BCSA (computer science and fine arts) and a soft spot for hexagons — her p5.js grid library pays them homage, and so did her early Tezos mints. A 2020 Processing Foundation Fellow, she ran Cozy Coding, weekly Twitch streams of interactive p5.js tutorials mentored by Daniel Shiffman; she has built for Deeplocal, contributed to p5.js itself, and in Golan Levin's advanced creative-coding studio she extends the CMU Textiles Lab's crochet stitch-mesh research toward generative crochet patterns. She works in p5.js, OpenRNDR, and whatever else the idea requires. Aren is an innovator exploring color combinations and patterns, and when she visits I appreciate her desire to dig in, try out new machines, and apply her style in new ways to new processes.
