Anna Lucia
Anna Lucia is a Dutch generative artist and engineer born in 1991 in Wageningen, the Netherlands. She studied Civil Engineering and Water Management at Delft University of Technology, worked briefly as an engineer in Cairo, and shifted fully toward her artistic practice in 2021. She currently lives and works in Berlin. Her work explores the intersection of algorithmic systems and traditional craft, especially textiles. Using code, randomness, and self-designed rule systems, Lucia creates generative works that feel both systematic and handmade: woven grids, geometric abstractions, animations, textile works, blockchain-based generative systems, and physical outputs. Her Generations project translated Gee’s Bend quilt structures into algorithmic digital quilts, while preserving the surprise, variation, and craft logic of the originals.
