Addie Wagenknecht

Addie Wagenknecht (b. 1981, Portland, Oregon) makes conceptual work at the seam of hacking and fine art. Multimedia and computer science at Oregon, then NYU's ITP, where she co-founded NORTD labs with Stefan Hechenberger — their open-source Lasersaur laser cutter went everywhere — plus F.A.T. Lab membership, an Eyebeam residency, a Mozilla open(art) fellowship, and Deep Lab, the women-led collective on privacy and surveillance she founded in 2014 with Warhol Foundation support. Her Black Hawk Paint series has drones painting canvases by flight command; Alone Together set Roombas loose in International Klein Blue. Represented by bitforms in New York; based in Innsbruck.
